2019
GLB Records was founded in Clapton, east London, by Mark Neilson after twenty years in record distribution. The first release, Anselm Reuter's Köpenicker Dub (GLB001), came out on 11 October as a 12 inch in an edition of 300, hand-stamped, and sold out within three weeks.
Neilson had first heard Reuter's music on a CD-R in Berlin in the summer of 2018. The sleeve was a plain stamped card by Berlin designer Jonas Weber, who has worked on every GLB sleeve since, each in its own style. The stone-yellow centre label dates from that first record.
The first Long Count took place at Phonox in Brixton on 7 December, with Reuter playing the whole night. It set the rule that has applied to every Long Count since: no set under three hours.
