Elske Maes grew up in Ledeberg, Ghent, and works the slow, heavy swing of late-eighties Belgian New Beat into contemporary house. Tom Ashby heard her on a community radio show in 2023, and she became the label's first Belgian signing the following year.
"Ledeberg" came out in spring 2024, followed by "Sint-Pieters" (2025) and "Vooruit" (2026). Her slowed version of "Bassin à Flot" appears on the covers compilation "GLB Plays GLB" (GLB050).
She programmes a small film-and-music night in Ghent and plays Kompass Klub regularly. Other dates include C12 and Fuse in Brussels, RADION in Amsterdam, Phonox in London and La Machine du Moulin Rouge in Paris.
