Stereolux is a publicly minded concert venue more than a nightclub. It is run by the non-profit association Songo, set up in 1996 to manage a smaller venue called l'Olympic. In autumn 2011 it opened on the Île de Nantes, as part of the La Fabrique complex designed by the Nantes agency Tetrac, on the old shipyard land by the Nefs. There are two main halls, Maxi at 1,200 and Micro at 400, plus flexible spaces. Songo launched the Scopitone festival in 2001, and it remains the venue's autumn fixture, given over to electronic cultures and digital arts. The programme ranges widely: Korean indie, French pop, then Myd on a September night in 2025. Electronic club nights are a regular strand and are treated with the same care as concerts. It celebrated fifteen years in 2026. Its importance for house music is indirect. Places like this keep a city's audience for electronic music educated and growing, and give local DJs a proper stage to work towards.
