A basement beneath the Grand Rex cinema, which opened in 1932. The hall was once called Le Rêve, took the Rex Club name in 1973 and spent years on rock and new wave. Then in May 1988 it held what Mixmag calls the first acid house party in France, with Laurent Garnier, at that point a regular at the Haçienda, on the decks. Garnier's Wake Up nights followed in the early 1990s, though sources disagree on exactly when they ended. In 1995 the room was refitted as a fully electronic club, with the booth turned to face the floor. It is one room, about 800 people, one dancefloor. In 2006 it installed a multi-point d&b audiotechnik system with more than 60 speaker points, and few rooms this size in Europe sound as considered. It opens Wednesday to Saturday, from around midnight until seven. DJ Mag had it at 89 in 2025 and dropped it from the 2026 list, which says more about polls than about the club.
