Kompass Klub

Kompass has moved more often than most clubs change their door staff. Jens Grieten started it as a pop-up, and on 30 April 2016 it opened in an old warehouse near the Ghelamco Arena with three rooms holding 1,500. In March 2019 Ghent's mayor ordered a four-month closure over recurring drug problems, and the Council of State suspended the order. Red Bull Elektropedia had named it the best Belgian club the previous November. Demolition took that building in December 2020. In November 2021 it reopened at the former Vynckier factory on Nieuwevaart, then went on to Vliegtuiglaan 12 after permit trouble, which closed with a Ben Klock night on 16 May 2026. In August 2026 it announced a permanent return to the Vynckier site, and reopened there on 2 October. It runs on event nights only, usually 23:00 to 07:00, and the listings tag it techno, hard techno and house. No capacity is listed for the current building. The Ghent scene does not have many rooms this size, so people follow it around.
