The big room in Cologne, on the Deutzer Werft on the right bank of the Rhine. It grew out of a club called Warehouse, whose dates vary by source, and has traded as Bootshaus since about 2004. DJ Mag lists the capacity at 2,000 and Resident Advisor at 1,800, with over 1,000 on the main floor alone. The club spends money on sound and talks about it. A Funktion-One system from 2012 gave way in February 2024 to L-Acoustics on the main floor, and the BLCKBX bass room has its own new rig. DJ Mag ranked it fifth in 2024, seventh in 2025 and eleventh in 2026, and in February 2026 it started a label, Bootshaus Music. It is not a deep house room and would not claim to be. The programme leans to bigger, harder and louder. It belongs on this list because it is the commercial engine of club life in the Rhineland.
