Brothers Manu and Michiel Beers came up with the idea in 2004 and held the first edition in 2005, with ID&T helping. The site is De Schorre, a provincial recreation park built around disused clay pits at Boom, about 16km south of Antwerp. It now runs over the last two weekends of July, each with capacity for 200,000 across the days, under the company We Are One World. The main stage is rebuilt as a new fantasy each year and has its own followers. It employs 80 people all year and about 15,000 during the event. There are offshoots in Brazil and at Alpe d'Huez, with Thailand scheduled for December 2026. It is easy to be sniffy about all this, and people who run small labels usually are. Behind the fairy-tale front, though, there is a lot of stage programming, and several of those stages book house and techno properly. Official dates for 2027 had not been announced when we checked. The 2026 dates came out in December 2025, so expect them around then.
