It began in 2006 as a small local gathering and has become what French listings call the country's biggest beach party. The stage is exactly where you would expect, on the sand in front of the Palais des Festivals, between the Bay of Cannes and the Croisette, with further stages on rooftops, inside the Palais and out on the water. More than 60,000 people attend each year, and over 90 artists play across six stages. The 20th edition in August 2026 had Martin Garrix, Marshmello and DJ Snake at the top of the bill, which tells you which way the booking has gone. The early years were a smaller thing, and its roots in the Mediterranean summer are still the real draw. A warm chord on a beach in the south of France at sunset is not a hard sell, and the setting does most of the work. Anyone after a deep cut should look to the smaller stages, or go to Sète. The 2027 edition is on the festival's site for 6 to 8 August.
