Founded in 1995 with a rave at Kernouës, Astropolis calls itself the oldest electronic music festival in France, and its founder Gildas Rioualen is still saying so in interviews. It spent 1997 to 2000 at the Château de Kériolet in Concarneau and since 2001 has centred on the Manoir de Keroual at Guilers, just outside Brest, a former property of the Counts of Kerouazle now owned by the city. The big night happens in the manor's park, and the days before it spread through Brest. The 30th edition ran from 2 to 5 July 2026, the main night at Keroual on the 4th. Listings put attendance at around 13,000. There is also a winter edition. It is proudly regional, gives a stage to local acts, and has hung on for three decades at the far western end of France, well away from the people who decide which festivals matter. Local listings expect it back in July 2027, but no dates have been published.
