Frieda Lux, born Friederike Lukas, started out sorting stock in a Leipzig record shop in her late teens. She has played vinyl only since 2011 and is known for long, unbroken sets, some of them seven hours.
"Karl-Heine" (2020) was her first GLB record, followed by "Connewitz Kreuz" (2021). Her albums "Rückweg" (2022) and "Nachtbus" (2026) both take the trip home after a party as their subject. The EP "Felsenkeller" came out between them in 2024.
She hosts a monthly radio show from her kitchen and restores old rotary mixers. Distillery is her home club, and she played regularly at Institut fuer Zukunft until it closed at the end of 2024. Other dates include fabric, Watergate, Blitz and the Sub Club in Glasgow.
